Will no taker of silk see the Light?
The President of the Supreme Court, Lord Reid, defends the independence of the
judiciary (BBC Radio 4 "Today"). Activist lawyers prevent deportations. Surely
one of the obligations of Government is to defend the realm.... Britain's
borders are clearly porous. So surely there is at least one judge who can see the
light and prosecute the Government for failing to defend the realm. Justice shouldn't
be one-sided: it requires balance. Which is, indeed, its symbol.
